After senior VP of Ubisoft announced that Watch Dogs is officially a franchise during E3 2014, fans have continued to clamor for more news on the sequel, Watch Dogs 2, including release date, characters and lead protagonist, Aiden Pearce.

There are so many information floating online on Watch Dogs 2-some are mere speculations, and only a few are actually official news from developer Ubisoft, like the release date and lead character, Aiden Pearce.

Watch Dogs 2 release date has yet to be announced by Ubisoft. As they have confirmed that indeed the open world adventure hacking game is in development, they have yet to announce a date in which they foresee the game would come out. Only speculations of release date are reported online, including a presumed 2017 release date.

In an interview with CVG, VP Lionel Raynaud of Ubisoft shared the plans for the making of Watch Dogs 2. While not much has been released to the public in terms of development, the studio's plan to change and upgrade Watch Dogs 2 radically to ensure the franchise' success.

"There are flaws, obviously. We absolutely want to tackle these flaws and surprise players, and the way to tackle some of those flaws is going to be quite radical. There are parts of the game that will need to change. We have this ambition to have games that are worlds with systems that offer more agency and freedom for players, that allow them to discover the world in the way they want. We want them to be less narrative or character driven and more creative, with more choices for the player," says Raynaud in the interview.

Other speculations online largely pertain to the main protagonist, Aiden Pearce and his return to the sequel. While again nothing has been officially confirmed by Ubisoft, his return upon the Watch Dogs 2 release date has generated online buzz. In some reports, his character is replaced by another male lead known as Raymond "T-Bone" Kenney-again only a speculation and no official announcement has been made.

Stay tune for official updates and more news from developer Ubisoft including actual release date announcements, character changes and gameplay.
