Following in the steps of Peter Burton, Desmond Llewelyn, and John Cleese, young British actor Ben Whishaw took on the role of 007's Quartermaster Q for the first time in the November release of the 23rd installment in the James Bond franchise, "Skyfall," and the first look at Q was released the official 007 website.

Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, the producers behind the James Bond series, announced on Thursday that Q would be back to the series, and with a youthful and fresher face in Whishaw. He will be the fourth actor to take on the role of the government's technology specialist. Daniel Craig returns as Bond, along with Dame Judi Dench as M, and Javier Bardem as the villain in the spy crime caper.

Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli commented, "It's a real thrill to confirm the return of Q in SKYFALL played by the enormously talented, Ben Whishaw. We are delighted to have this beloved character back in the series."

Whishaw was most recently seen in BBC's "The Hollow Crown: Richard II," an adaptation of William Shakespeare's play, and will be costarring with Tom Hanks and Hally Berry in the film adaptation of David Mitchell's "Cloud Atlas."

Whishaw also starred in such features as "Bright Star," "The Tempest," Brideshead Revisited," "Layer Cake" (also with Craig), and "Perfume."

"Skyfall" will be released in theatrs around the world this November.
