Survival horror science fiction video SOMA developed by Frictional Games gets a 2015 release date and a teaser trailer that reveals gameplay and story.

Frictional Games known for its Penubmra and Amnesia series is deep in development of another science fiction survival horror game knowns as SOMA. According to its official site, "SOMA is a sci-fi horror game from Frictional Games, creators of the groundbreaking Amnesia and Penumbra series. Coming to PC and PS4 in 2015."

SOMA synopsis reads "The radio has gone silent on PATHOS-2. An isolation bears down on the staff of the remote research facility, strange things are happening. Machines are taking on human traits and alien constructions have started to interfere with routine. The world around them is turning into a nightmare. The only way out is to do something unimaginable."

The SOMA trailer released demonstrates the freaky gameplay of the video game and how scary Frictional Games brings its fans in a sci-fi horror game. According to rumored plots, SOMA is a mixture alien and virus themes that will surely make missions challenging for gamers.

Frictional Games' Thomas Grip talks to MoviePilot on the story of SOMA and shares that there are a few new creatures that your character will encounter in the game. It will likely be a merge between the scientific and alien theme that plays throughout upon the release date of SOMA.

In the first person shooter game SOMA, fans will portray the character Simon, who based on the SOMA trailer, finds himself in a dark abandoned room where he has no recall how he got there. He also finds a body on a nearby metal bed and sees for himself how it violently shakes as it seems to come alive after putting back a brain-like item into its head.

According to the same report, Grip shares that Simon is "not an amnesiac character, but something weird has happened to him that has made him end up in this place, and that's a big mystery, but I can't talk to you about that right now. What's soft of cool with the mystery is that you could actually figure it out directly, but I don't think many people will think in those directions and want to consider that possibility."
