First released to the public decades ago, the adventure game King's Quest heads to the most hi-tech platforms this year. King's Quest versions for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC will come upon its 2015 release date.
Sierra Entertainment's King's Quest was first released in 1984 and the latest was unleashed to the public in 1998. While there have been many cancelled titles in between its first and last publication, both fans and creators are hopeful that King's Quest will return to the high-end consoles available today.
In August during Gamescom, creator Sierra Entertainment officially announced that indeed King's Quest will return to video game stores soon, reportedly by its 2015 release date. This information however remains to be vague, as Sierra Entertainment has yet to unveil when exactly in 2015 will King's Quest be released. Though the creator has stated the release date for King's Quest to be by fall of 2015, fans are still waiting when exactly this will be.
According to Sierra's official website, King's Quest is "developed by The Odd Gentlemen... reimagines all that charm, humor, puzzles, exploration and sense of wonder that made the franchise so magical when it first arrived thirty years ago. Old and grey, King Graham-the hero made legend in the original King's Quest games-shares the extraordinary stories of his youth with his curious granddaughter, Gwendolyn, taking players back to the feats that shaped a kingdom."
Upon the King's Quest release date, fans will experience "an episodic saga that honors the core characters and familiar storylines of King Graham's early adventures, setting up new chapters tied to-but independent of-the series that helped define Sierra and the adventure genre. Through these tales, a whole new generation can finally experience one of gaming's most beloved journeys," posted on Sierra's official site.
