HTC Desire 826 Release Date: The Ultimate ‘Selfie’ Phone Of 2015 Debuts At CES 2015; Boasts An Ultrapixel Front Snapper

HTC has unveiled the HTC Desire 826, another addition to its mid-range phones, at CES 2015.

The Desire 826 encompasses the features of the HTC Desire 820 and HTC Desire Eye. Like the Desire Eye, it boasts HTC's BoomSound speakers which are hidden under the screen and on the bezels of the phone.

The Desire 826 sports a 5.5-inch screen with a 1080p resolution. It has the thickness 7.5mm and weighs 155 grams. The mid-range phone comes in two-tone color variants including White Birch, Blue Lagoon, and Purple Fire.

Under its hood is a Snapdragon 615, and Qualcomm's 64-bit octa-core processor which uses eight ARM Cortex A53 cores, four of which are clocked at 1.0GHz and four at core 1.7GHz. The powerful processor is coupled by an Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB of RAM, and backed by a 2,600 mAh battery. It has a 16GB built in storage that can be expanded via a microSD.

The newest member of the Desire family selling point would be its front snapper dedicated to 'selfie' fanatics as it wows the crowd at CES 2015 with its innovative front camera.

It sports a 13-megapixel (f/2.2) rear camera with 28mm lens, BSI sensor, and LED flash. While its front camera features a 4-UltraPixel snapper.

Other notable features of the Desire 862 include, connectivity options has a 4G or 4G-dual standby mode, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS, and Micro-USB.

 HTC Desire 826 release date is set to roll out by the end of January 2015 in Asia, and launch to other regions is still unannounced.

Since it was launched in an event in the country, it is expected that the handset will be available for retail here. But buyers in the US is said to wait a little longer as it'll take some time for its availability to take place in different carriers.
