BAFTA Nominee Benedict Cumberbatch And Sophie Hunter Confirm Their First Baby On The Way; 'Both Over The Moon' With Pregnancy News

As if "Sherlock" star Benedict Cumberbatch engagement news isn't enough for fans, then come Sophie Hunter's pregnancy rumors buzzing online.

Following the engagement news announced in November, BAFTA nominee Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter confirm pregnancy rumors and announce that they are indeed having their first baby!

According to the Guardian, Benedict Cumberbatch's publicist  released a statement on the pregnancy, and said, "I am delighted to confirm the Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are expecting their first child. They are both over the moon."

The Internet exploded right after this announcement, as fans reeling from their recent heartbreak upon Benedict Cumberbatch's engagement congratulated the actor for the coming bundle of joy, and for soon becoming a dad.

The rumors of Sophie Hunter's pregnancy escalated as the couple appeared at the red carpet during the Palm Springs Festival early this month. Sophie Hunter was wearing a rather loose dress, and according to USA Today, was posing for photos with a "strategically placed purse".

"The Imitation Game" star Benedict Cumberbatch and the 36-year-old director Sophie Hunter are set to be married this spring as Page Six reveals a bit more about the pregnancy and the wedding.

According to the report, the source said, "Sophie is a few months along, and both she and Benedict are very excited about it. They are also quietly planning to marry early spring."

Apart from this baby blessing, Benedict Cumberbatch received another great news as he has been nominated for his work in the 2014 historical thriller, "The Imitation Game". He portrayed lead character, computer scientist Alan Turning and has received positive reviews from critics worldwide.

Benedict Cumberbatch and "The Imitation Game" co-star Keira Knightley-who is also pregnant with her first child with James Righton-are both nominated for the 2015 British Academy Film Awards. Keira Knightley is in the shortlist for supporting actress in this year's BAFTA.
