Rejoice Barcelona fans, Lionel Messi transfer to Chelsea won't happen. In fact, it is not even close to happening. According to a Chelsea official, they are not coveting for the Argentine football superstar. Last month, rumors have spread that the current no. 1 team in England is already preparing a deal for Messi who has a buy out clause of at least 200 million pounds.

"Jose has made it quite clear his expectations are that nobody comes and nobody goes during the transfer window," Chelsea assistant coach Steve Holland said of Lionel Messi transfer gossip.

"We're perfectly happy with what we have. It's not a decision I personally would make. When you look at the numbers being mentioned around Messi, I would think it's an impossible deal for any club working within the financial fair play rules."

Before, Chelsea assistant coach Holland's comments regarding the Lionel Messi transfer rumors, Barcelona has also released a statement. President Josep Bartomeu said that the 27-year old striker is not going anywhere because he is the center of the team.

"He is our leader and as I have said before we want to build the team around him. He is playing as well this season as he was last season."

Lionel Messi transfer talks intensified after reports that he is having a rift with Luis Enrique. The coach didn't deny nor confirm the reports but in his latest comments, it appears true.

"The one thing I can guarantee is that I will quit the day I see my players do not follow me but that has not happened yet in my career," the 44-year old tactician said.

"I knew, clearly, what it means to be the coach of a club like this and there is nothing that can divert me from the route I have taken, nothing that can distract me."

Right now, Barcelona is in second place of La Liga and still has a shot for the trophy. They are also still in contention for Champions League and Copa del Rey. If Barcelona does not win one trophy, where Lionel Messi would go?
