Estes Enterprises Opening Two New Qdoba Mexican Grill in Kansas

Jul 31, 2012 11:08 AM EDT | By Staff Reporter

Franchisee Eric Estes, of Estes Enterprises, is planning to open up two new Qdoba Mexican Grill restaurants in Wichita, starting on the east side and one on the west.

The Wichita Eagle reports Estes is still finalizing real estate deals for the sites, with the help of Leisa Lowry at J.P. Weigand & Sons. Wink Hartman II of Ink Construction is the contractor.

Initially, Estes plans to bring Qdobas to Wichita's east and west sides. The east-side Qdoba will be built first.

"Our plan is to have the first unit open by the end of '12 or the very beginning of '13," Estes said in the report.

Estes Enterprises has 20 A&W and Long John Silver's franchises in Kansas, including six of the seafood restaurants in Wichita.

Denver-based Qdoba, which debuted in 1992, has about 600 restaurants nationally.

doba is similar to Chipotle Mexican Grill in the sense the customers also order from a counter with a number of protein, vegetable and salsa selections for burritos and tacos.
