Another hip hop artist has passed and celebrities mourn his untimely death.

The 26-year-old co-founder of an American hip hop collective A$AP Mob has died due still unknown causes. Steven Rodriguez, more popularly known as A$AP Yams is one of the artists who established the collective that brings together hip hop artists, directors, producers and even fashion designers with a goal to further the music and fashion industry of hip hop.

A$AP Rocky, close friend and A$AP brother to A$AP Yams is said to lead a tribute for the artist. A$AP Rocky, along with other artists have shared their grief to fans worldwide, posting on social media their sadness about their loss.

A$AP Rocky posted on Twitter and said, "R.I.P. Yams, I love you brother"-all in capital letters. The two were known to be really close friends, with Yams sharing that "Rocky's like Luke Skywalker, and I'm Yoda", in an interview with New York Times.

News of A$AP Yams' death surfaced Sunday morning on Twitter, with fans and celebrities waiting to hear confirmation if indeed A$AP Yams has died. His record label released an official press statement and said, "All of us at RCA Records are shocked and saddened to hear of the death of A$AP Yams. As one of the creative forces behind A$AP Worldwide, Yams' vision, humor and dedication to the members of A$AP Mob will always be remembered. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends."

Speculation of the cause of A$AP Yams' death is said to be drug overdose. Again, investigation is still ongoing and official announcement on this matter remains to be confirmed. A$AP Yams has struggled with drug addiction, entering a rehabilitation facility early last year.

A$AP Yams is remembered for his piece with the New York Times as he said, "We wanted to become big but we didn't want to do it by hopping on somebody else's wave. We wanted to come in the game with out own wave."
