'Arrow' Season 3 Episode Guide: Stephen Talks About His Character's Death And Lazarus Pit; More Details Revealed

"Arrow" returns on Jan. 21 for its 10th episode with fans hoping it will answer the questions left in its grand mid-season finale.

Of course, no question is bigger than this. Is Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) really dead? As you can recall, the CW Network's show main character was defeated by Ra's al Ghul (Matt Nable) in their sword fight at the top of a snowy mountain. Several "Arrow" season 3 episode guides have been released but nothing mentioned about Oliver's resurrection.

Is he really dead? He is the show so if he is not, how is he going to come back from the dead? A number of theories have been made and the most popular of which is the Lazarus Pit, a natural phenomenon used by many DC Comics characters to heal or bring themselves back from the dead.

Among those who have experienced the pit in the comics are Ra's al Ghul who is also its first discoverer, Batman, former Robin Jason Todd, Black Canary, and the Riddler. Is the Green Arrow next in line?

Stephen Amelll sat down with the Collider for some "Arrow" season 3 episode guide. Although he provided a lot of scoop, he quashed rumors that the Lazarus Pit will be in play if ever he returns.

"We just saw him fall. We've seen Oliver survive," Amell said when asked what it would take for the Emerald Archer to survive.

"So, [we don't know] whether he went straight off the cliff, whether something broke his fall, whether he hit the ground. We have mystical herbs on the show that have healing powers. We've seen a Lazarus Pit, although that's not something that's going to be used for Oliver. I hope he survives. I like playing him."

So, there. There is no Lazarus Pit. Maybe Arrow is just readying something bigger. As the viewers know, this show has a fetish for heart attacks.

Meanwhile, in the next episode titled "Left Behind," John Diggle (David Ramsey), Roy Harper (Colton Haynes), and Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) will take up the mantle as they try to hold up while their leader is gone.
