‘Hannibal’ Season 3 Trailer: New Preview Will Give You Chills! Will Graham Tracks His Frenemy As 'Red Dragon' Characters Confirmed To Be Added In The New Season

It's been eight months since "Hannibal" ended season two with a bloodbath of epic proportions -- and by the time the cult thriller returns to NBC this summer for season three, Dr. Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) and his discerning palate will have been off our screens for more than a year.

The new footage sees Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) tracking his friend-turned-foe across the globe (most notably to Florence, Italy, where some exteriors have reportedly been shot) a year after Hannibal escaped with Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier (Gillian Anderson) in the final moments of last season.

Still MIA in the trailer are Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne) and Alana Bloom (Caroline Dhavernas), who may or may not have made it out of the finale alive.

"Hannibal" will be revisiting a number of characters in its third season, including Dr. Frederick Chilton (Raul Esparza) -- whose shooting was apparently not as fatal as it seemed -- and Mason Verger (with Joe Anderson replacing Michael Pitt). Eddie Izzard's Abel Gideon and Kacey Rohl's Abigail Hobbs are expected to appear in one form or another.

Season three will also introduce a number of characters from Thomas Harris' "Red Dragon" novel, including Francis Dolarhyde (Richard Armitage) and Will Graham's future wife, Molly (Nina Arianda), who will be introduced after a time-jump in episode eight, according to Variety sister site TVLine.

Molly is described as a strong, vibrant thirtysomething single mother who has helped her husband overcome his dark past. She "understands that Will is a good man, and her love has allowed him to rebuild himself. But when Will is asked to return to the FBI, she also urges him to try and save lives, knowing what risks this entails."
