Fans of the "Friday the 13th" franchise will have to wait a little longer, but the good news is, Jason will return come 2016 release date.

Initially set for a November 2015 release date, "Friday the 13th" has been moved to a much later 13th date, specifically on May 13, 2016. This move is reportedly a result of Paramount's reshuffling of horror lineup release date, that affects "Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension" and "The Ring" release date.

The 13th installment to the "Friday the 13th" franchise, this specific "Friday the 13th" marks the enduring battle of good vs. evil, led by character Jason Voorhees. This third delay in release date shows only that production is carefully constructed to commemorate on of the longest running franchise in Hollywood.

In early reports, it has been rumored that "Friday the 13th" will not have Jason Voorhees to return. Confusing fans as to what the movie will focus on, producers finally confirm that "Friday the 13th" will have Jason Voorhees return.

Speaking to Collider, producers Andrew Form and Brad Fuller spared a few details of the upcoming classic horror film. Form said, "I'm gonna confirm that Jason is in the movie. There was a rumor out there that Jason was not in it."

"Jason is in the movie, that is confirmed," seconded by Fuller.

According to Movie Pilot, other details of "Friday the 13th" come release date reveal that Pamela Sue Voorhees, also known as Mrs. Voorhees, mother to Jason will make an appearance. Although casting for this character has yet to be confirmed.

In an interview with Omelete, producers explained shared, "Sex, drugs, always beautiful people dying, these things do not change. And we can develop more problematic relationship [Jason] with the mother."

"Friday the 13th" plot will also not be connected with the latest "Friday the 13th" movie released in 2009 directed by Marcus Nispel. But it could however be connected to the upcoming "Friday the 13th" TV series.
