Kristin Chenoweth announced Monday she will not be returning to "The Good Wife," signaling the end of an anticipated multiple-show arc in which she was cast as a political reporter, after she was injured on set.

"It is with deep regret to inform everyone that due to my injuries, I am unable to return to 'The Good Wife' at this time," Chenoweth told People in a statement. "[I'm] getting better slowly, and thank you everyone for your concern."

While filming the season premiere of "The Good Wife" on July 11, the singer and actress was injured on the set when a gust of wind caused her to be struck by a piece of lighting equipment.

She reportedly hit her head on the ground when she fell, a source told TMZ, which had pictures of Chenoweth in a neck brace and strapped to a gurney, being loaded into an ambulance.

Chenoweth will still be featured in the fourth season premiere, which will air Sept. 30. She said via Twitter that she hoped to return to the show when she was able after recuperation from her injury.

"Sounds dramatic: but im thankful to be here. I love this life! And am grateful! ... I miss the crew and cast of The Good Wife. Love u guys. Xoxo," Chenoweth tweeted.

The actress will, however, appear on the season 4 premiere on Sept. 30 (9 p.m. ET).

On "The Good Wife," Chenoweth will play a reporter who was digging into the story of Julianna Margulie's Alicia and Chris Noth's Peter, who are separated on the show.
