Don't get your hopes too high. The highly publicized and highly anticipated Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs Manny Pacquiao fight is reportedly not going to happen.

That is if the person you will ask is British boxer Amir Khan. In an interview with the Daily Mail, the 28-year old boxer said the mega bout is not going to take place based on his observation after having a talk to the camps of the two fighters.

"Honestly that (Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs Manny Pacquiao) fight will never happen, in my opinion. I spoke to Manny Pacquiao and, obviously, we speak to Mayweather and his team. I can't really see that fight happening, there is too much politics with that fight. There's different promotions teams and different management teams-I don't think they will let that fight happen," he said.

Although pessimistic, Khan insisted that he will be a fan of the Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao showdown.

"If it does happen, I'm a big boxing fan and I would love to see it. I want either one of those guys, if they are fighting each other then I can't argue because I would love to see that fight like everyone else. It's a fight I've always waited for but it's taken so long that I can't see it happening."

When the two most decorated boxers of this generation met at an NBA game, many fans were spoiled to various news saying they are close to completing a deal. However, over the past days, things seems to have turned sour as Floyd Mayweather Jr's camp claims they are not even close to completing any deal. The undefeated American fighter himself even posted on Instagram a picture of him with the caption:

"Laying back, relaxing, enjoying good weather, palm trees, and piña coladas. While they continue to lie about making the fight... I'm just going to continue to travel and explore the world on my private jet. #FightNotMadeYet"
