Tai Yasue's Disney characters-based RPG, "Kingdom Hearts 3" is in full swing production!

While there have been no confirmed line up yet, co-creator Yasue revealed that the characters of the upcoming sequel are all connected to 1.5 and 2.5 universe.

"Inside the HD version, everything is connected to Kingdom Hearts III, so we will have events that explains the backstory of the kingdoms so you get a full understanding. All of the content through 1.5 and 2.5 connect to the story of 'Kingdom Hearts 3,'" he explained in an interview with Nexxtup (via PlayStation Universe).

"Most definitely you can expect that after all we want to conclude the saga in 'Kingdom Hearts 3' and there are lot of threads that haven't been completed, for example Ventus and Terra in 'Birth By Sleep,' what's going to happen to them for example. There is going to be lot of stuff like that in 'Kingdom Hearts 3,' so expect a lot of characters, old and new."

Following Disney's acquisition of "Marvel" and "Star Wars" it has been heavily speculated that "Kingdom Hearts 3" would adapt its characters and include it in the game to which Yasue acknowledged.

"I can't really go into any specifics or say anything about Star Wars, but when we come up with worlds we really want variety and to make sure that there's a lot of different types of worlds," Yasue answered in an interview with Kotaku.

"Any world that looks special is definitely a consideration; everything from the characters, to how they look and the differences between them. We think Star Wars is great but I'm not going to relate that to Kingdom Hearts III yet! We want a wide variety of worlds and when we come up with ideas, it's the differences and the originality of each that's really important," he added in a separate interview with IGN.

In addition, the entire production team is reportedly working simultaneously not only to speed up the progress but also to ensure the quality of the highly anticipated game.

"There are two teams but they are mixed, overlapping and I guess the programmers are split. There is one team for porting 1.5 and 2.5, and 3. So they are separated but the game design and artists are overlapping due to both," Yasue explained.

"During the initial stage for 'Kingdom Hearts 3,' we had a lot of planning for game design, experimentation, research and development. [This way] it's good and productive, artist and designers do both at once."
