Benedict Cumberbatch And Sophie Hunter Honeymoon In California! Did ‘The Imitation Game Star’ Forgot He Was Married At The Oscars?

Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter's honeymoon reportedly had to be juggled in between events so that the British star could attend the 87th Academy Awards last Sunday, just a week after their secret wedding on Valentine's Day.

Thankfully, the couple were able to get some alone time exploring California together a couple of days before the awards show climax on Sunday.

According to The Daily Mail, Mr. and Mrs. Cumberbatch were seen driving around in an F-type S convertible Jaguar three days after getting married at the Isle Of Wight. Dressed in casual clothes, they were also seen hugging each other while the Oscar nominee filled up the car.

The newlyweds stopped by a ridge to look out over the sea, cuddled in each other as well.

It looks like the time they spent relatively alone during Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter's honeymoon in California made them a bit more obsessed with each other. The father-to-be couldn't keep his hands off of his pregnant wife, even kissing her as they posed for pictures on the red carpet.

The "Hobbit" star made a slight blunder during a red carpet interview, however. He seemed to have forgotten about his wedding on the Isle of Wight for a bit during the height of the festivities, referring to Hunter as his "fiancé" instead of his "wife."

Hunter didn't look fazed as she waited for her husband to finish the interview. Being only married for about a week and with the excitement of Oscar night, he could have easily been a little bit confused.

Now that the awards season is over, the parents-to-be are now eager to get ready for their "Cumberbaby."

"I've been on muddy fields and on horseback playing Richard III for the BBC and I've been on more flights to Los Angeles and back than I can count," he previously told Baz Bambigoyle of the Daily Mail. "All of that has been special, but I'm ready to have a couple of months to ourselves to prepare for the baby and do some nesting."
