The much anticipated "Agents of Shield" season 2 return is happening next week, March 3.
The Marvel TV series will pick up from where it left off when it aired its last episode on Dec. 9. The inhumans are coming to town and they are just around. After giving hints of the uncanny roots of Skye (Chloe Bennet) in the earlier episodes, she has been revealed to be a superhuman with superpowers.
When Marvel's "Agents of Shield" season 2 returns, Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and the rest of the team, who are also close friends to Skye, will have to face the fact that one of theirs is different.
However, it is not just Skye that will concern them. The SHIELD agents will have their hands full with Raina (Ruth Negga), who just like their employee, turned into something else after getting covered by cocoon after touching the Obelisk. One possible angle is Raina and Skye possibly becoming friends.
Talking to the Entertainment Weekly ahead of the "Agents of SHIELD" season 2 return, executive producer Jeff Bell was asked if the two will become friends somehow in the second half of the season. He just said the path for the two are somewhat similar.
"What I will say is that we've been playing the Skye and Raina through the whole thing as parallels, as doppelgangers of one another - two sides of the same coin," Bell said.
"Both young women without parents, without a history, both struggling with who they are, both looking to figure out who they are and what they will become. And then who they are and what they will become in both instances are surprising and complicated and so that will absolutely affect their relationship with one another."
"Agents of SHIELD" season 2 returns with the episode titled "Aftershocks." Also part of the show are Ming-Na Wen as Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Grant Ward, Iain De Caestecker as Leo Fitz, and Elizabeth Henstridge as Jemma Simmons.
