Lindsay Lohan Cleared of Stealing $100,000 Worth of Jewlery

Aug 28, 2012 10:53 PM EDT | By Staff Reporter

Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan finally has something to celebrate. In a court ruling on Tuesday, a judge declared that Lohan and her assistant will not be prosecuted for the burglary of $100,000 worth of watches, sunglasses and monogrammed Tiffany tableware from a house of a multimillionaire friend of hers where she stayed at.

And according to TMZ, the Los Angeles county District Attorney says Lohan will not be prosecuted for the heist. The D.A. rejected the case citing insufficient evidence to bring burglary charges against Lohan.

"The District Attorney's Office received no evidence that any jewelry, including watches, was taken," a representative for the D.A. said.

It's now clear ... the initial theft complaint, which included $100,000 worth of watches and sunglasses, never made its way to the D.A.'s office."

Lohan had been denied entry into the home at 2:45 a.m. on Saturday, August 18, according to a security guard, the report said. "What, is he in there f--king some other girl!?" the guard quoted the actress as saying.

Lohan had been trying to pin the alleged burglary, which was reported to have happened during an all-night party at the home of her rich friend Sam Magid on August 20, on someone else. Magid initially called police after the all-nighter when he realized several items were missing. He recanted his report days later, but police continued with their investigation anyway.

Although Magid recanted his story about his missing goods just days after reporting the theft, sources said cops have continued with their investigation and believe they have independent witnesses who will identify Lohan and Doyle as the thieves, the Web site said.

In 2010, Lohan was suspected of stealing a $35,000 Rolex watch, and fur flew in 2008 when she was accused of ripping off an $11,000 mink. Both incidents were eventually deemed misunderstandings and she was not charged.
