'Jurassic World' Sequel Already In Development! Will The 'Disappointing' Dinosaurs Finally Improve?

Three months prior to the official release of "Jurassic World," a sequel is reportedly in the works already.

While Jurassic World Org exclusively reported that a follow up for the highly anticipated dinosaur-themed movie is already in development, all is "blue sky" as of the moment as Universal is still very much focused on the finishing touches for Colin Trevorrow's work.

It can be noted that in a previous interview with Empire, the man behind the return of the legendary creatures in the big screen said that sequels are definitely being considered by the studio.

"We definitely talked about [sequels] a lot," Trevorrow revealed. "We wanted to create something that would be a little bit less arbitrary and episodic, and something that could potentially arc into a series that would feel like a complete story."

However, he did not discuss the issue over the claims of scientists and paleontologists that the dinosaurs featured in the movie are of date.

The National Geographic reported that paleontologist Thomas R. Holtz, Jr. of University of Maryland in College Park was not at all impressed with the dinosaurs.

"Yes, we know 'it's only a movie but 'Jurassic Park' has a cachet that it borrows from science that is a lot different from 'Land of the Lost' or 'Godzilla,'" the expert explained referring to the dinosaurs from the "Jurassic World" movie.

Holtz also called out the number of misrepresentations and inadequancies shown in the trailer and the stereotypical story.

"The original movies brought the dinosaur research of the 1980s to 1990s viewers," Holtz said. "And the latest one seems to bring the dinosaur research of the 1980s to the 2010s viewers."

The scientist also pointed out that the "Jurassic World" researchers should have updated the appearance of the dinosaurs by now.

"I'm just disappointed-as are many other scientists and researchers-that they've deliberately chosen to portray 'old school' dinosaurs designed to mimic those of the original 'Jurassic Park,'" a zoologist at the University of Southhampton in UK named Darren Naish said. "It's lazy and makes it look as if they wanted to stick to what they think is safe. Yawn."

"Jurassic World" starring Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jake Johnson, Nick Robinson, Ty Simpkins, BD Wong and Irrfan Khan is set to hit theaters on June 12, 2015.

Vincent D'Onofrio, Judy Greer, Lauren Lapkus, Brian Tee, Andy Buckley, James DuMont, Courtney James Clark, Omar Sy and Katie McGrath are also included in the lineup.
