'Winds of Winter' Release Date Could Be Out Soon? Story Of 'Game Of Thrones' Major Characters To Deviate From George R.R. Martin's Novel

"Game of Thrones" main cast Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who effectively played the role of Cersei Lannister incestious brother, Jamie Lannister, hinted some major revelations in the upcoming season while fans of George R.R. Martin are eagerly waiting for "Winds of Winter" release date.

In his interview with Men's Health UK, the 44-year-old Danish actor revealed that the hit HBO series based on Martin's books will most likely deviate from the nover.

"He hasn't written the books, but he knows how he wants it to end. Well, I think he's written one of them now. I don't know when it comes out but I'd assume soon," Waldau explained.

Adding, "All the details, they're going to have to come up with them themselves. It's going to be interesting because I think the show is going to finish before the last book comes out. There'll be quite a big difference when it does."

While fans are hoping that "Winds of Winter" release date would come soon, George R.R. Martin revealed to Access Hollywood that "Game of Thrones" season 6 is already on its early development.

"I met with David Benioff and Dan Weiss and Bryan Cogman," he confirmed. "And we had a long talk about some of the stuff that will be included in Season 6, but we haven't started writing that one yet."

He also confirmed Waldau's hint that the "Game of Thrones" major characters would take a different path from that of his novels.

He previously told Conan O'Brien that "no one is safe" from HBO's hit TV series and fans who have read the books should not rely on what happened to the characters in the novel.

"Even the book readers who say, 'Well, this character is safe, he's not in any trouble because he's still in book five', may have an unpleasant surprise," he revealed.

His statement has been evident during the fourth season of "Game of Thrones," which has been closely based on "A Song of Fire and Ice" novels.

"I do kind of squeal a bit when I get the outline, 'Wait a minute, wait a minute, he's not dead in the books, he's still alive in the books,'" the famous novelist told O'Brien.

While George R.R. Martin is busy with the "Game of Thrones" TV series he assured fans that he is working on "Winds of Winter" release date as well.
