"The Last of Us" movie is reportedly eyeing on "Game of Thrones" cast Maisie Williams to play the female lead role, Ellie.

While it hasn't been officially announced, it seems like the 17-year-old English actress, who portrayed the role of Arya Stark, would definitely be in the lineup after she confirmed a meeting with the movie executives together with game creator Neil Druckmann.

"I had a lunch a little while ago and we spoke about the possibility of me playing Ellie and that's really exciting and I would absolutely love to," Williams said in a report by Screen Rant. "They announced at Comic-Con that we had spoken about it, and since then in like every interview people have been asking me about it."

"Honestly I would love to and I think they would love me to play Ellie also, and that's where it is at the moment. There's no script, no director, it's still very early days for the whole project, but if it all goes ahead soon enough I think, yeah, I would love to."

Williams revealed that everything started through Twitter where fans asked Neil Druckmann to consider her to portray the role of the young female protagonist in "The Last of Us" movie adaptation.

True enough, Druckmann reportedly considered the young actress.

"It kind of all came about on Twitter a long time ago," she said. "The power of Twitter still never ceases to amaze me."

While Druckmann tried to kept mum about "The Last of Us" movie plot, he teased the fans that "big changes" will definitely happen in the movie.

"I just finished a second draft, and we did a table read with a bunch of actors," he said. "Pretty faithful to the game. There are some big changes, but the tone and what the story's trying to say is pretty faithful to the game."
