Ed Sheeran and Athina Andrelos were one of the cutest celebrity and non-celebrity pairing last year, but the British acoustic star recently confirmed that they already broke up!
The "Thinking Out Loud" singer confirmed to Australia's KIIS 1065 that he is indeed back on the market again.
"I wasn't single. I was in a relationship for a long time," the 24-year-old singer told DJ Kyle Sandiland when he was asked if he was single.
"But you're single now?" the DJ pressed on, to which Sheeran replied with a "Yes."
When Kyle's co-host, Jackie O's asked him if he wanted to be single, he couldn't seem to answer the question.
Sheeran later added, "Erm ... well that's interesting, that's the first time I've spoken about that."
According to the Daily Mail, the relationship disintegrated after the BRIT Awards last month. Andrelos, who works for Jamie Oliver as a Food Team production assistant, reportedly couldn't take the Grammy-nominated singer drinking too much at an after party. He also couldn't shake off a girl who kept on bothering him the entire night.
A source reportedly told heat magazine that Ed Sheeran and Athina Andrelos spoke the next day during a drive to the airport and "decided to take a break because it was unfair on both of them."
"It wasn't to do with his fame, it's just how he'd deal with other people - girls - wanting to talk to him on nights out," the source added.
They had been together for more than a year.
He may have dodged the questions about how he liked being back on the market during the radio interview but according to The Mirror, he seems to be transitioning well.
