There have been reports that the filming of "Pirate of the Caribbean 5" had to be stopped because of Johnny Depp's hand injury.

According to the Hollywood Reporter (via Gulf News), the actor's injury is expected to delay the current shoot for up to four weeks. He had to travel back to the United States last month after the off-set accident that occurred in Australia.

The website also reported that the filming of "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" in the Gold Coast will resume until the middle of this month. Some people blame Johnny Depp for causing the delay in the movie and that could also be a reason for the studio to move the release date of the fifth installment.

However, new reports revealed that the 51-year-old actor's accident would not affect the filming of "Pirates of the Caribbean 5."

According to Master Herald, there are other scenes that do not feature Johnny Depp's character Captain Jack Sparrow so they resumed filming that. In fact, the production team has already finished filming the other scenes. But the actor still needs to return to Australia to finish his scenes.

In a separate report from MSN News, they claimed that around 200 production crew members won't be working for two weeks until the actor returns on set. They will resume filming of the fifth installment on April 15.

The website also reported that Amber Heard's husband had a minor surgery in the US and is now almost fully recovered. They had to insert a pin in his finger as part of the hand injury treatment.

Apart from Johnny Depp, "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" will also see the return of Geoffrey Rush as Captain Barbossa, Javier Bardem as Captain Salazar, and Orlando Bloom as Will Turner. The film is directed by Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg.

The fifth installment is scheduled for release on July 7, 2017.
