Luis Suarez – Liverpool Partnership. What Really Caused It According To The Uruguayan Star

Apr 14, 2015 09:18 PM EDT | By Rolly Gacelo

Luis Suarez - Liverpool split up was among the biggest stories of 2014. The player and the team had fruitful three-year relationship.

The Uruguayan striker earned himself a lot of individual award while with the Merseyside club including Premier League GoldenBoot, PFA Team of the year member, European Golden Shoe, and more.

As for Liverpool, they managed to clinch a spot in the UEFA Champions League last season and almost won the EPL title on the same year.

Things between Luis Suarez and Liverpool really looked good during their time with each other. However, that was abruptly ended in summer of 2014 after the 28-year old striker left for La Liga powerhouse Barcelona.

His new team waited for him even if needed to serve four-month suspension because of a biting incident during 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. According to the player himself, moving to Barcelona is something he has been dreaming off.

In another report, it seems there is a bigger reason why Luis Suarez - Liverpool relationship was disbanded and by the looks of the English club's current season, seems like there is no way they can make him stay.

"I've always wanted to play at Barcelona, it was a dream come true," Suarez told Uefa.com.

"Of course the allure of winning the Champions League was part of the reason I joined Barca. They are always a candidate to win it.

"That's a plus here, as the clubs I've played for before didn't really have the chance to win big European trophies - maybe a domestic league or cup at best."

Luis Suarez also talked about determined his new team is in winning more silverware, something he really liked in a club.

"Playing in a team like this, where all the players want to win every match and everything, that is a sign that it's all about silverware - whether it's the Champions League, La Liga or whichever trophy's available.

"We have a chance of making the Champions League final this season."
