Xiaomi Mi 4i Unveiled In India For $205; Packs An Impressive Camera - Read For More Specs

Xiaomi unveiled its first "Made for India" handset, the Xiaomi Mi 4i mid-range phone, at its Global Mi Premiere held at Siri Fort Auditorium in Delhi earlier today, The Hindu reported.

"This is a flagship product that has drawn a lot of inspiration from India. A lot of tweaking has been done keeping in mind the Indian consumers and is made for India," Xiaomi Vice President Hugo Barra said.

The newest addition on Xiaomi's series of mid-range phone packs impressive features such as 5-inch full HD (1080p) IPS screen display with 441 ppi pixel density.

In terms of its design, the phone has 7.8 mm thickness and carries a unibody polycarbonate(AKA fancy plastic) design with a soft-touch finish a coating to prevent fingerprints. It is made available in black and white, as well as orange, light blue and pink. (via Venture Beat)

Underneath, is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 clocked at 1.65GHz coupled with a 2GB of RAM and an onboard 16GB of storage. A 3,120 mAh battery was also baked in to support a 1.5 days of "normal" use and charges up to 40 percent in just an hour or fully charged in three hours.

Camera-wise, it features a 13MP rear camera with Xiaomi's latest camera feature called "Sunlight Display."

According to Tech Crunch this feature "increases the visibility of images on the display during harsh sunlight conditions." Moreover, Xiaomi 's camera features include "HDR, gamma and contrast tuning, color correction, and low-light de-noising. The quest, it seems, is to help users take photos like the pros."

The Xiaomi Mi 4i dubbesd as "Project Ferrari" will be first in Indian market and will be released in other Xiaomi market particularly in Asian countries such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and Malaysia in May.

It is priced at Rs 12900 approximately $205.
