Sam Smith has a new tattoo and the meaning behind it will make his fans' hearts melt.
Fresh from his sold-out show at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney, Australia, the Grammy winner got inked as a tribute to his loyal followers. He didn't just take a proof photo of it, he also took a video of what he went through for his fans.
In the short clip, the "Lay Me Down" singer can be seen grimacing as the tattoo artist drew the tattoo on his arm.

"For you, my little sailors," he captioned the shot of the finished product. Sam Smith's tattoo resembled an anchor on his arm.
People Magazine reported that the anchor was a tribute for his avid fans. He decided to call them Little Sailors based on a song with the same title that he reportedly wrote when he moved to London.
According to the Daily Telegraph, he took his band mates, Ben Thomas and Brendan Grieve, to Rhys Gordon's Little Tokyo in Sydney and decided to have matching anchor tattoos.

Meanwhile, his award-winning album, "In The Lonely Hour," took the top spot on Australia's charts, Billboard reported. It reportedly spent 48 weeks in the top 20 and 37 weeks in the top 10.
His debut album sold more than five million copies since it was released last year.
Sam Smith's tattoo isn't the only new thing about the "Stay With Me" singer either. He is also on a strict diet to gain a healthier body.
He publicly thanked certified nutritional therapist Amelia Freer for "making me feel so happy inside and out" several weeks ago.
"Three weeks ago I met a woman who has completely changed my life," the 22-year-old singer captioned the Instagram photo of himself holding out "Eat. Nourish. Glow." "Amelia Freer has helped me lose over a stone in 2 weeks and has completely transformed my relationship with food."
