‘Scream Queens’ Reveals Lea Michele’s Character Hester! How Different Will Hester Be From Rachel Berry?

How did "Scream Queens" transform Lea Michele?

The 29-year-old TV star is best known for her role as Rachel Berry in Ryan Murphy's recently concluded high school musical comedy, "Glee."

She was a goal-oriented, talented singer who wouldn't let herself be stepped on by anyone in the previous show. As Rachel Berry, she sometimes annoyed fans but most of the time, she had the viewers rooting for her.

What kind of transformation will she undergo in Ryan Murphy's new series?

Described as a horror comedy, Michele will play a loser once again, but this time, she may not be as sane as Rachel Berry was.

According to Entertainment Weekly, "Scream Queens" transformed Lea Michele into a character that's "very different than the New Directions lead singer."

"Her name is Hester," showrunner Ryan Murphy reportedly revealed to the publication. "She plays a girl with scoliosis and a neckbrace, whose nickname is Neckbrace-Emma's character just calls her 'Neckbrace.'"

Despite her disability, she reportedly won't be such a wallflower. In fact, she might just fall off the deep end just to turn into the Queen Bee, Chanel (played by "American Horror Story" star Emma Roberts).

"It's a real Eve Harrington part for Lea. This girl wants everything Chanel has and will do anything to get it," the producer added. "Lea calls it her Charlize Theron 'Monster' moment."

To make her character look more authentic, the singer and actress was reportedly not allowed to put on makeup and had to wear "1995 tracksuits."

She won't look so outdated for long though. Murphy assured Michele's fans that there will be "a great turn that happens half-way through the season with that character."

"Scream Queens" star Lea Michele internalized the character so much that her co-star Roberts revealed that she couldn't keep a straight face whenever they shot a scene together.

"She's so funny. We'll be doing a scene where I'll be giving everyone my death glare and I'll have to skip Lea because I'll start cracking up," the "We're The Millers" star revealed. "It's been really fun to work with her because I was such a fan of 'Glee.' Her and I have really hit it off."
