Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) and Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) will not be literally standing close to each other in the pilot episode of the third season of "Hannibal."

The sniffing and bro hugs will not be there. According to series creator Bryan Fuller, the two will spend some time away from each other as the cannibal doctor is in Italy while the gifted FBI profiler is still nursing his knife wounds.

The "Hannibal" season 3 premiere episode will also see Dr. Lecter posing as the lover of Gillian Anderson's Dr. Bedelia du Maurier who in last season's finale was seen fleeing with Hannibal.

The first two seasons saw Lecter and Graham developed a unique relationship. When the doctor found out in the second season finale that his nemesis does not really feel the same, he stabbed him.

Hannibal has a special feeling for Will and with reports that "Hannibal" season 3 premiere week will be spent with two of them miles away from each other, what is going on in the mind of the sophisticated cannibal?

Bryan Fuller said Hannibal might feel empty because of what transpired last season that lead to his fallout with his favorite patient.

"He is very much trying to define himself outside of his relationship to Will Graham, but he keeps being drawn back to that dynamic because it's unlike anything he's experienced in his life," Fuller said in an interview with TV Guide.

Fuller also shared more details regarding the "Hannibal" season 3 premiere in a separate interview with Digital Spy. While Hannibal's friendship with Will has ended, he will find new one with Bedelia.

"[Laughs] Well it's interesting, because the first episode is really about Bedelia and Hannibal, and there's just a hint of... 'Wouldn't this be better if it were me and Will Graham?' In terms of Hannibal thinking that, and what he misses. Because Bedelia will always be Hannibal's psychiatrist, she'll never be necessarily as intimate and passionate in her relationship with Hannibal as Will and Hannibal are. You get a sense of yearning that these two men have for each other and their friendship, and what it meant to them and how much they miss."

"Hannibal" season 3 premiere is on June 4.
