Gary Collins Dies at 74, Legendary Actor and Host

Gary Collins, the legendary TV actor and host of the Miss  America Pageant died early Sunday morning at the age of 74.

Harrison County Deputy Coroner Brian Switzer tells TMZ that Gary Collins died of natural causes just before 1:00 a.m. at Biloxi Regional Medical Center in Biloxi, Miss.

Gary Collins is also known for his guest appearances on a variety of television shows, including "Charlie's Angels," "The Love Boat," "Fantasy Island," "Alice," and "Marcus Welby, MD." Collins was best known for hosting the talk show "Hour Magazine" from 1980 to 1988. He also hosted the Miss America Pageant from 1985 to 1989.

His most recent acting appearance was in 2009 in an episode of the TV show "Dirty Sexy Money."

Collins married former Miss America Mary Ann Mobley in 1967, and the couple had one daughter together before separating last year, according to TMZ.

Collins had some runs in with the law. In 2009, he pleaded guilty in Santa Barbara, Calif., to a DUI which was is third offense. Then in 2010, he was fined $500 in Jackson, Miss., for leaving the scene of a traffic accident.

His most recent run-in was last year when he was arrested and fined after he left a Last year, a Biloxi restaurant without paying his bill. Dismissal came after a restaurant employee asked to with draw his complaint in the case.
