Johnny Depp is foraying himself into the literary world by signing a deal with publisher HarperCollins Publishers which will allow him to run his own imprint called Infinitum Nihil meaning "Nothing is forever."

"I pledge, on behalf of Infinitum Nihil, that we will do our best to deliver publications worthy of peoples' time, of peoples' concern, publications that might ordinarily never have breached the parapet," the "Pirates of the Caribbean" star said in a statement, reports The AP.

"For this dream realized, we would like to salute HarperCollins for their faith in us and look forward to a long and fruitful relationship together."

The first books will focus on two music icons, Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie. The publisher states that Depp will seek "authentic, outspoken and visionary ideas and voices".

The Dylan book is slated to be released in 2015. Dylan and Brinkley will also collaborate on the editing and publication of a previously announced novel by one of Dylan's heroes, folk musician Woody Guthrie, who died in 1967. Infinitum Nihil will publish Guthrie's 1947 novel House of Earth, which was never previously published. The novel, complete with notes by Brinkley and Depp, will be published in January 2013.

"Johnny and I thought the Dylan book was the ideal way to inaugurate the Infinitum Nihil series," said Brinkley in a statement. "Bob has been very warm and forthcoming with us. His music has inspired us both deeply since we were teenagers."

Other celebrities with their own imprints include Chelsea Handler and Rachael Ray.
