Re/code To Collaborate With The Verge Following Vox Media's Acquisition

May 26, 2015 08:39 PM EDT | By Michael Smith

Vox Media has announced that it is in plans to acquire Revere Digital, the parent company of the Re/code technology website.

"We want to assure you that this combination is designed to bolster and enrich Re/code, and that we will continue to publish under the same name and leadership, with editorial independence," Re/code journalists Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher wrote on the site.

Although terms of the acquisition were not announced, it was revealed that Re/code would occasionally collaborate with The Verge, a tech-lifestyle website. The Verge functions as Vox Media's primary technology news site.

Vox Media is expected to alter Re/code's format and incorporate a new publishing platform that incorporates modern journalism templates.

"Like a lot of start-ups, they got to a point where they could either invest in scaling up on their own, or work with someone who already has," Vox Media CEO Jim Bankoff said in a telephone interview, according to CNN Money

Re/code will continue to attend conferences and report on new technology presented by developers.

Vox Media was founded in 2003 and works with editorial brands like SB Nation, Polygon and Curbed.
