Release Date For Green Day's New Album Could Be Expected Next Year? Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong Shares Details About Their New Record

Green Day is finally out of hiatus as the punk rock band is now working on a new album, with possible tour along the way.

After receiving a Hall of Fame induction, Billie Joe Armstrong and the rest of the band members are now busy working on new songs, which will be included in their new record.

In an interview with Billboard, the band's frontman shared details about their new album claiming that this will be a perfect gift for the fans who have supported them from the start.

"There's definitely a great spirit going on," Armstrong said of their new album. "We've always been pretty charged up. Before we found any of this out, I had already written a few songs and everybody was really excited by them. And then we heard about the Hall of Fame, and we were just blown away."

And while the statement made fans excited about the release date of their album, Armstrong said that they are taking things slow to make sure that everything will be up to par following their hit 2012 trilogy, "Uno," "Dos" and "Tres."

"Yeah, I mean, we're going to take our time," he said. "We're not going to try and pull off some, like, victory lap over this because I definitely want the music to come from a real place and be inspired, not just because we got honored or anything like that, but because we're honoring music. We want to work on them, and we want to make a great album."

Furthermore, Green Day's frontman also shared how strong their foundation is compared to other bands who unfortunately disbanded because of petty quarrels.

"Well, even people that would be our contemporaries, a lot of these guys would be in their fifties already. But we started young. This is my high school band, and we just kept going. So there's been a lot of life within the time period that we've been around. We're really fortunate in that way."
