There is not much positive Cristiano Ronaldo news in the past weeks, probably because it is Barcelona and Lionel who are making the louder noise.

However, with the news of Rafa Benitez taking over Real Madrid after Carlo Ancelotti's sacking, the Portuguese football star is at the center of attention again. According to reports, the former Valencia boss is set to transform the La Liga powerhouse and the first thing he will do is revolve the offense around Gareth Bale who rumors say is not getting along well with Ronaldo.

"Rafael Benítez is ready to make Gareth Bale Real Madrid's new 'untouchable' ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo in a move that could also see the Welshman given a chance through the middle for the Spanish club," writes Matt Law of The Telegraph.

"Sources in Spain even claim that Benítez may be prepared to sell Ronaldo, and not Bale, if he cannot successfully incorporate both players into his Real team," he added.

This latest Cristiano Ronaldo news will definitely sadden his fans. It will also make them doubt Rafa Benitez due to the fact that Bale underperformed this season.

If ever Cristiano Ronaldo decides to not continue playing for Rafa Benitez, several teams are already on stand by. One of the teams constantly linked to the 30-year old football superstar are Chelsea and Manchester United of the English Premier League. The Daily Star reported Blues are now the favorites to get the services of Cristiano Ronaldo.

"According to the Telegraph, the former Liverpool boss is prepared to sideline Ronaldo in favour of Welsh international Gareth Bale. The move would increase the chances of Ronaldo returning to the Premier League with United and Chelsea considered the front-runners."

Cristiano Ronaldo has a $1-billion release clause from Real Madrid and if ever there is a team that can buy his services, it is Chelsea. However, the club might need to unload some of its top players as they are already tight in the forward position.

Manchester United, on the other hand, used to be the home of Ronaldo so it is not that hard to imagine Ronaldo becoming a Red Devil again.
