Rachel Bilson Remains Tightlipped With 'Hart Of Dixie' Cancellation! Cast Blames Hayden Christensen's Partner For The Show's Demise

Following months of speculations and expectations, CW has finally released the word on "Hart of Dixie" cancellation.

And with the drama comedy show not returning for season 5, fans can't help but ask why the seemingly good ratings of the show did not help save "Hart of Dixie" from being cancelled.

Rachel Bilson, the show's lead star has been keeping herself out of the spotlight following the birth of her already 6-month-old daughter, Briar Rose, with longtime boyfriend Hayden Christensen.

There were reports that the 33-year-old actress decided to leave Los Angeles to avoid any questions regarding the show's fate, however soon after CW released it's statement, Bilson was again seen in her hometown.

E! Online reported that, "The actress has rarely been photographed since welcoming daughter Briar Rose Christensen in November 2014, but on Monday, the first-time mom, 33, was seen shopping in Studio City, Calif. Dressed casually in a black tank top and cuffed jeans, the TV star looked effortlessly chic, per usual. Bilson's outing also marked the first time she'd been since in public since The CW canceled Hart of Dixie."

However, the star remains tightlipped about the cancellation of "Hart of Dixie," instead she continues to avoid the paparazzi or any interviews involvin the show.

While CW president Mark Pedowitz previously said that the show's fate rely entirely on its rating, there have been reports that it actually had something to do with Rachel Bilson.

"We're going to see the ratings," he announced. "I think Leila did a great job in the 10 episodes this year of making something fun for the fans. So if it ends, there's a great finale. If it doesn't end, there's a great season finale, but we're not committed one way or the other yet."

While it's almost clear that the show's rating was not good enough for CW to consider a season 5, Rachel Bilson's "Hart of Dixie" co-star Jamie King revealed that the decision was heavily relied on the lead star's decision whether to leave or return to the franchise.

"It's a tricky situation because it really isn't about ratings for us," she admitted to E! News . "It's not like a ratings issue it was more of a timing issue. Rachel Bilson got pregnant and wanted to take maternity leave. Every woman has a right to do that. I think that everything has an imp at on the way things are decided upon. It's very interesting because our fans are so devoted."
