James Cameron Having A Hard Time With 'Avatar 2?' Release Date Needed To Be Delayed Because Of Problems With The Trilogy's Plot?

While fans can't wait to see the next installment to James Cameron's hit scifi 3d movie "Avatar," it's been confirmed that the releas date has been delayed for one more year.

Since the multi-awarded director is not only working with "Avatar 2," hence he's simultaneously filming two other installments of the franchise, it's same to assume that his job is not at all easy.

"There's a layer of complexity in getting the story to work as a saga across three films that you don't get when you're making a standalone film," Cameron explained during New Zealand Screen Advisory Board Meeting of the movie's delay.

And while James Cameron failed to provide a detailed explanation as to why he needed to delay the release date of "Avatar 2" Slash Film  was able to quote franchise music director James Horner's statement about the delay in a podcast interview with "Hey You Guys."

Apparently, the 60-year-old Canadian filmmaker is having some problems in making the trilogy since the script is originally made for "four sequels."

"Right now Jim has four sequels, script wise, Horner said in his interview. "And he's trying to make it into three. And that is where, I think, his effort is going right now. To keep it to three sequels. Because he's got so much going on how do you keep it from expanding into a fifth movie, total. And he'll get that sorted out."

Meanwhile, Cameron has assured fans that "Avatar 2" is well on its way and that there's nothing to be worried about the movie franchise's future.

"There's nothing I need to say as an artist about the state of the world and human affairs that I can't do through the lens of the Avatar universe, he said in a report by IGN. "We've had a couple of years to think through the story arc of the next three films, and every day that goes by, I believe in the stories I'm telling more and more. We're not coming out of the block fast to capitalize on the last film."

Furthermore, while "Avatar 2" release date is delayed until Dec. 25, 2017, Crossmap reported that Avatars 3 and 4 is right on schedule.

"We expect to be able to accelerate the process quite a bit, because we've improved a lot of the software and the computer graphics tools, and we've been working very closely with Weta Digital down here in New Zealand developing a whole new suite of tools to speed up the process," the director explained of the sequels' process.

Adding, "We're writing three simultaneously. And we've done that so that everything tracks throughout the three films. Were' not just going to do one and then make up another one and another one after that and parallel with that, we're doing all the design. So we've designed all the creatures and the environments."
