While fans are excitingly waiting for Adele to release a new album, following her hit record the British songstress would have to work on a James Bond song first.

After singing "Skyfall" as the original sound track for the 23th James Bond movie with the same title, Adele is reportedly now tasked to sing another song for "Spectre."

According to Latin Post, Daily Star claimed that Adele is short listed among Sam Smith, Lana Del Rey, Lorde and Faith to song the original sound track for the James Bond movie.

"Adele was just one of a few artists asked to write and record the title track for 'Spectre,'" a source reportedly revealed. "Sam Smith was the favorite to be picked among insiders, but Adele has got the nod."

"It is huge pressure for her after the unbelievable success of 'Skyfall.' It is a massive scoop for the film, too, as the world awaits her third hugely delayed album."

As for her new album, Adele is expected to have it launched anytime this year after it was delayed a few times last year.

Digital Spy reported that the delays were caused by the singer herself. It's been though that she needed some space out of the lime light to finish something personal that needed to be addressed ASAP.

In addition, her music producer Emile Haynie said that the "Skyfall" singer is very much involved in her new album that she's taking things really slow to make sure that everything will turn out perfect.

"Adele was awesome, but I don't know if we'll be working together," Haynie said. "We got along well as friends when we met in February and I hope we can cut some songs, but Adele is taking her time."

"I'd push for it to happen, but we'll have to wait and see."

While it hasn't been confirmed yet, The Daily Star previously reported that Adele's new album will be a surprise release like that of Beyonce's, which instantly became a hit.

"The plan is to release internationally on iTunes as a complete surprise without any previous promotion or build-up publicity campaign," the source reportedly said. "The shock tactics worked amazingly well for Beyoncé and the feeling is Adele's new album is so widely anticipated it doesn't need a long promotional build-up."
