3 Things You Need To Know About Lyra Health

Jun 10, 2015 05:07 AM EDT | By Czyka Tumaliuan

Former Facebook CFO David Ebersman rolls out a new health app to help people cure mental problems.

Along with high-calibre engineers, clinicians, data scientists, and health care experts, Ebersman seeks to transform behavioral treatment through technology.

It offers holistic health plans for enterprises. Rather than an open source health portal for individual consumers, the medical startup provides health packages for employees working for big corporations. Lyra would stipulate health plans tailor fit to each person in an organization based on diagnosis assessed by patented digital tools.

"He said Lyra would focus on working with employers, health plans and providers to provide a variety of tools to patients rather than to create a consumer-type portal. That would include diagnostic tests to help people determine if they need care, for example, as well as software to manage the process," Re/code reported.

It's not a substitute for a real doctor. Tagged as Lyra Health, the tech startup focuses on providing the appropriate medical care for people suffering from mental illness and substance addiction. The company would serve as a bridge between patients and doctors. They aim to connect identified patients to the right care that can make them better by collaborating with the existing behavioral health system, scheduling client-doctor appointments and constant follow-ups.

"Our technology matches patients to the right providers and treatments for their unique needs and preferences," read in Lyra's official website.

The company's tools and software would track patients' progress. The newly launched startup would let you see and monitor your progress through tracking health management applications developed in undisclosed costs.

Healthcare Technology journal HIT Consultant said that Lyra would leverage health applications and systems that would allow patients to manage treatment results and progress.

"The plan includes software-enabled tools and a patient care center that will guide patients through the treatment process and help them manage their care with personalized service."
