Iphone 6S Rumors: Front Camera To Get 1080p Slow-Mo Video Recording, Panoramic Photo, LED Flash? No More Bendgate For Next-Gen Apple Flagship?

According to the latest iPhone 6S rumors, Apple's next-gen flagship device will have an upgraded front-facing camera.

Hazma Sood, a developer known for sharing accurate iOS updates in the past, spotted what could be updates for the upcoming device's front camera.

"Sood spotted some code hints a few new features could be coming to the iPhone's front-facing camera, including the ability to capture 1080p video, shoot in 240-frames-per-second slow motion, capture panoramic photos and a new flash," Business Insider wrote.

With most of its rivals sporting better front cameras, the website said "it's not too surprising" for the upcoming iPhone's own front shooter to come with improvements as well.

Sood shared his findings via Twitter which you can see here.

By contrast, the iPhone 6's front camera is only capable of 720p video recording and doesn't support other features that the 6S' camera will allegedly have, according to the smartphone's specs listed in GSM Arena.

Other iPhone 6S rumors suggest a solution to the Bendgate controversy that plagued last year's iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. The Taipei Times picked up a statement by Catcher Technologies chairman Allen Horng which could have implications for Cupertino's next-gen flagship.

"Thanks to the smoother production and strong orders for metal casings for new projects, we now forecast the next quarter will be better than this quarter," Horng said.

The company is one of the world's leading metal chassis producers.

Phone Arena thinks the "new projects" Horng is referring to could be the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. The website also cited a statement made by the company's CEO regarding scaling issues for an "innovative process for one of its smartphone clients" as further proof that the iPhone 6S rumors are true.

The website said top-shelf 7,000-series aluminum might be used for the new iPhone's metal chassis. Reportedly, 7075 aluminum "has almost the tensile strength of steel" and is used in climbing equipment, inline skates and even the M16 rifle.

"If Catcher is indeed using it to polish Apple handset chassis units, the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus might be one of the toughest aluminum unibody phones made to this point, beating the Galaxy S6 in the process," the website added.
