Sony Xperia M4 Aqua News: 8GB Version Goes On Sale At Amazon! Buyers Better Get A MicroSD Card With That

In the latest Sony Xperia M4 Aqua news, online retailing giant Amazon is now selling the mid-range Japanese smartphone ahead of its official US release date.

The 8GB version of the M4 Aqua, with model number E2303, is selling for $349 unlocked.

"The LTE bands this phone can connect to are supported on all the major US carriers, so bringing it to your favorite shouldn't be a problem," 9to5Google said.

But for anyone who wants to push through with the purchase, the website said a microSD card purchase is also in order. As Xperia Blog reported recently, the 8GB M4 Aqua only has 1.26GB of free memory. The website got hold of a European E2303 retail model.

"You see that out of 8GB of storage, 4GB is taken up by Android 5.0 and just over 2GB of pre-installed apps. For our model, this leaves a paltry 1.26GB for our own apps, media, photos and videos."

The folks at Phone Arena shared the same thoughts on the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua news.

"None of us expect an 8 GB device to offer all of that space, since the stock software always takes up a fair amount of room. But with just 1.26 GB left from that 8-gig total, a few apps and a few videos captured on that 13-megapixel camera would soon force those dreaded storage warnings," the report said.

Although Sony said that the device comes with 3GB of storage in its documentation, it's not what the actual numbers say.

Still, other Xperia M4 Aqua specs are quite impressive. As per GSM Arena, the device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chip with a quad-core processor, Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The E2306 model has 16GB of built-in storage is also available but all models support external expansion via microSD cards up to 32GB.

It comes with a pair of 13MP and 5MP cameras. The M4 Aqua has a 5-inch 720p IPS LCD display with 294ppi pixel density. Like other devices in the Xperia line, it comes with IP68 certification making it dust and water proof.
