It’s A Boy! 'Sherlock' star Benedict Cumberbatch And Wife Sophie Hunter Welcome ‘Beautiful Son’ – What Did They Name Him?

The good news capped a wonderful week for the "Sherlock" star, having been awarded the prestigious CBE during the Queen's Birthday Honours ceremony for his service to the culture and the arts last Friday. The little tot's arrival was then announced on Saturday, to the delight of the newly-married couple and "The Imitation Game" star's avid followers.

"Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are delighted to announce the arrival of their beautiful son," a representative relayed to US Weekly last weekend. "We would kindly ask everyone to respect the family's privacy during these next few precious weeks."

Although it's unclear whether the baby arrived before or after the Queen's Birthday Honours, it's safe to say that the 38-year-old actor would be fretting over his first son right after being born. He never kept his excitement of becoming a father a secret to fans and the media.

Now that the Cumberbaby has arrived, fans immediately took to Twitter to try and guess his name. Ellen DeGeneres and Jimmy Kimmel have tried naming Cumberbatch's child in the past but none of them have been successful - that we know of.

Several Twitter users came up with the funniest names, taking into account the baby's unusual surname.

"Curly Q Cumberbatch," one fan wrote, attaching the hashtag #cumberbatchbabynames.

A Harry Potter fan posted, "Wingardium Leviosa," while another suggested "Cabbage Patch Cumberbatch."

"I vote Fitzwilliam (after Mr Darcy) #KeepItClassy," another posted.

"All these #CumberbatchBabyNames are ridiculous. When I have his baby, I'm naming it John. Simple," a more level-headed follower spoke up.

Do you think Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter's son be given a weird name or something simple like "John"?
