Suicide Silence singer Mitch Lucker died Thursday at the UCI Medical Center in Orange County after being involved in a motorcycle accident Wednesday night.

Lucker, 28, of the popular Riverside heavy-metal band Suicide Silence died following a motorcycle crash late Wednesday night in Huntington Beach.

"There's no easy way to say this," the band wrote in a statement posted on its Facebook page. "Mitch passed away earlier this morning from injuries sustained during a motorcycle accident. This is completely devastating to all of us and we offer our deepest condolences to his family. He will be forever in our hearts."

"The world lost an incredible musician today," read a tweet from the band's record label, Hawthorne-based Century Media. "Our hearts are with all friends, family, and fans. RIP Mitch Lucker, you will be missed by many."

The 28-year-old singer just saw his band sign a multi-album deal with new record label Nuclear Blast. Lucker lived in Huntington Beach but grew up in Riverside, California.

A candlelight vigil for Mitch Lucker will be held tonight, Thursday, November 1 at 8 p.m. at Main St. and 12th in Huntington Beach, California. This is open to anyone who would like to stop by and pay their respects.
