There are so many reasons to be excited about "Empire" season 2 release date's arrival. The new cast, the warring kingdoms, and of course, new catchy songs.
What about Cookie's new love life? Taraji P. Henson's character had a moment with former husband Lucius (Terrence Howard) but as fans know now, it ended in the most horrible way.
The former Empire Entertainment CEO is now in jail and one person he suspects to be behind it is his former wife Cookie.
The primary couple will not get back together. However, when the "Empire" season 2 release date comes, Cookie will be the one who gets to move on faster, probably.
According to earlier spoilers, "Boo Boo Kitty" will have a new suitor in the person of Adam Rodriguez's Laz Delgado, a club promoter and former EMT/ love interest for Cookie. He will burst into the scene and he will try to do better to make Cookie feel special.
"Lucious should've done a better job treating Cookie like the wonderful woman that she is," Adam told Access Hollywood when asked about his character's mission to rekindle romance with Cookie. "Laz Delgado has a real clear picture about who Cookie is and how special she is, and he's gonna treat her that way."
Rodriguez, who also appeared in "Magic Mike," also recalled the earlier days that he worked with Henson.
"I have had the pleasure once before, yes. We get along great... I am super excited to be opposite her as soon as we can get this thing going," he said. "She's just the best. So much fun, such a great person. When we did the last movie we just had nonstop laughs and the chemistry was great. We definitely have chemistry.
"We were doing kissing scenes when they weren't even written," he joked.
"Empire" season 2 release date is September 23.
