At the age of 23, Brazilian star Neymar Jr. is already living the life that all football fans dream of.

He represented his country in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, won trophies with Barcelona, and of course, got multi-million dollar contract. This season is probably the best Neymar has had ever since starting senior career in 2009 at the age of 17.

He scored 39 goals this season for Barcelona, an accomplishment that makes people think maybe he is already on the same level as his teammate Lionel Messi and Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo.

For another Brazilian legend Ronaldinho, Neymar Jr is already on his way there. For the journeyman who is regarded as among the world's greatest footballer of all time, the 23-year old is on course in writing his own name in the sport's history.

"He is on the way towards making history. When I arrived at Barcelona, the club hadn't won anything for a while. Barca wanted a change of fortunes and opened the doors to new success. Ronaldo, Rivaldo and Romario and already played for Barcelona and had left a gap for a Brazilian. Now I am sure that Neymar will continue this, and he will want to do it better than my generation."

Ronaldinho also thinks Neymar can become the best player in the world in no time.

"Very soon Neymar will transform into the best footballer in the world. I am going to encourage him to reach this target. If he doesn't do it this year, it will be very soon."

Despite all the praises, Neymar Jr is still humble enough to accept that he is not yet at the top. For him, the best football player in the world is still his Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi. He even tips the Argentinian star to win the 2015 Ballon d'Or award, Messi's fifth if ever.

"For all that he has done, Messi deserves it," Neymar tells Globo in an interview in Chile where he and Brazil are competing for the Copa America title.
