Numerous names of young actors have been rumored to be the new Spider-Man including Dylan O' Brien (Maze Runner), Mateus Ward (Weeds), and Asa Butterfield (Ender's Game).

However, none of them have confirmed that they have auditioned for the role expect for Chandler Riggs who wasn't even included in the list of fan favorites.

"The Walking Dead" star surprised everyone when he admitted that he did not get the role. "Good luck to whoever lands spiderman role - it would've been awesome for me!" the 15-year-old actor wrote on Twitter.

Riggs also made the announcement on Facebook, which disappointed some of his followers. "If you were Spiderman I'd actually look forward to the film. You're development in your acting has been such a joy to see!" Taylor Lynne replied.

"Would've been awesome if you were the brand new Spider-Man. Could've shared a scene with the new Punisher in civil war or something. That would've been awesome for walking dead fans," Fernando Vieira wrote.

Since Chandler Riggs is already out of the race for Marvel's new "Spider-Man" film, the actor that's most likely to bag the role is Charlie Rowe. He is best known for playing the character Leo Roth in the FOX series "Red Band Society." The British heartthrob also appeared in several films such as "The Golden Compass", "The Boat That Rocked", and "Never Let Me Go."

According to Movie Pilot, the 19-year-old actor looks like Peter Parker and can be funny as well. "He is a great actor, started really soon, but is a fan favorite, and for now all fan favourites have been out," the website reported.

While it's been a dream come true for any young actor to portray Peter Parker, the son of a famous actor ditched the "Spider-Man" audition. Norman Reedus revealed to the Philippine Daily Inquirer that his son Mingus was invited to audition for the role of Peter Parker.

"I asked him, 'Do you want to audition?' He asked, 'What part?' I said, 'I think you'd be Spider-Man,' He said, 'No, I don't want to ruin my life.' I went, 'What do you mean?' He said, 'I don't want to be famous,'"
The Walking Dead" actor said. "He's got such a good head on his shoulders. I'm learning from him more than he's learning from me. He's my role model!"

New reports confirmed that the new "Spider-Man" actor will debut in "Captain America: Civil War" so Marvel and Sony should start finalizing their lineup for the sequel since its release date is already next year. Maybe they have already chosen an actor but decided to keep it a secret.
