Kim Kardashian's contouring technique has been taken the beauty scene by storm for the past few years, however this new 2015 makeup trends will defy what "shadows" can make to help your face look slimmer and polished.

While many are still trying to figure out how to properly contour like the Kim Kardashian way, this is not meant for everyone.

Now comes strobing!

This new 2015 makeup trend will help you achieve a chiseled face structure without the difficulty of faking a shadow to your face. In fact this is the complete opposite.

So how does strobing work?

It's actually the complete opposite of contouring, the goal here is to attract more light in your face instead of trying to cast a shadow over it.

Prior to putting on a foundation, one must put in mind that one of the most important part in this 2015 makeup trend is the base.

You can use a matte foundation but make sure that you're using an illuminating base like MAC Strobe Cream or L'oreal Magic Lumi Primer.

Now that your base and foundation are already on your face, the next step is to highlight of course! It's called strobing for a purpose.

For those who are not yet aware of this new 2015 makeup trend, all you need is a reliable highlighter, may it be cream, liquid or powder, and a blush.

Like Kim Kardashian's contouring, you just don't put your highlighter all over your face, you have to put an emphasis on the places where the lights usually hits.

Highlight your brow bone, inner corners of the eyes, bridge of your nose, top of your cheekbones and along your Cupid's bow. You can also put some on the center part of your chin.

After putting on a highlighter just add some blush to make your cheeks pop giving you a more radiant look.

Below are the most used products for this 2015 makeup trend called strobing:

For liquid highlighter you can use the best-selling MAC Strobe Cream, Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in shades Opal, Pearl or Moonstone and Benefit High Beam. Other brands like Revlon, NYX, L'oreal and ELF also offer liquid highlighters.

It doesn't have a chunk of glitters on it too. Sonia Kashuk's Chic Luminosity Highlighter Stick is a perfect dupe for the Benefit one.

Highlighters is also offered in pressed powder form among the best selling powder highlighters include, Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal, MAC Mineralized Skin Finish, Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow, Too Faced Invisible Candlelight, Kevyn Aucoin The Celestial Powder.
