"DriveClub" PS Plus Edition release date has been pushed back since it was plagued with technically issues especially on its multiplayer servers.

Sony and the game developers "overhauled codes" so that its server can accommodate more players, and "assigned multiplayer quality check team to prevent repeat incidents," Engadget reported.

"We know that this might be frustrating after your extra wait already, but [I] hope you can understand that we are taking extra precautions to protect your experience when you do get online," wrote Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony Worldwide Studios on the PlayStation Blog. ( via IB Times)

"We want to make sure we don't overload the servers as we invite millions of PS Plus members to download the game. We have to take this precaution because Driveclub connectivity is demanding for a multiplayer game, with countless ever-growing social connections across clubs, challenges, multiplayer, and hundreds of thousands of dynamic leaderboards and activity feeds."

After months of working hard to improve "DriveClub" gameplay, the game is now officially listed on PS Plus and can be downloaded for free starting today.

Members from Europe and North America who have downloaded the game on PS Plus can immediately play offline mode. While for those who wished to play "Drive Club" online, they need to download the "Drive Club" update first which takes up to 15GB in size.

But Sony noted on its blog, that "online functionality for the PS+ Edition will see a staggered release."

Meanwhile, the game can be upgraded for $24.99 which adds "an extra 40+ cars, 65 tracks and a vast single player campaign."

Here's the full list of "DriveClub" PS Plus Edition features:
