FIFA Scandal-Themed Movie Underway With Ben Affleck And Matt Damon As Possible Producer And Star

Outrageous FIFA scandal that has taken over the world in the past few months is going to get a big screen treatment.

The Hollywood Reporter wrote a film about the corruption inside the world's biggest football governing body is set to become a film with Hollywood A-listers Ben Affleck and Matt Damon as the frontrunner producers.

"The American side of the FIFA scandal is getting the movie treatment with Ben Affleck among those bringing story to the big the screen," the website wrote.

"Capping off eight days of negotiations, Warner Bros. has won a bidding war for Houses of Deceit, a book by BuzzFeed investigative reporter Ken Bensinger that is being seen as the definitive account of American FIFA exec Chuck Blazer and his role in the largest sports and public corruption scandal in history."

The FIFA scandal-themed movie will be directed by Gavin O'Connor and its story will focus on Chuck Blazer, the American soccer exec at the center of world's biggest sports corruption scandal.

Blazer used to be an unemployed dad who progressed into a FIFA executive committee member and executive vice-president of the U.S. Soccer Federation. He also served as the general manger of CONCACAF.

Ken Bensinger expressed hope that this still untitled FIFA Scandal movie will arouse the interest of a wide range of people.

"I'm excited about the challenge of putting together this book and the prospects for a movie. I think this story has amazing potential to capture the interest of a wide range of people and not just soccer fans, because it touches on fundamental human themes of power, greed, corruption and justice," Bensinger added in a statement.

FIFA scandal movie is expected to hit the big screen by 2017.

The football/soccer world was rocked last month after several top officials were arrested during a raid in a Switzerland hotel in relation to corruption allegations.

Following this event, FIFA president Sepp Blatter got elected but then resigned from his post not too long after winning.
