For a while, forget about the good news for the upcoming "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 that talks about the lesbian vampire and the love story between Stefan and Caroline. There is a better story to hear.
Elena Gilbert is reportedly coming back on "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 - at least according to Ian Somerhalder, the actor who plays Damon in the series.
In an exclusive interview recently with Melty, Somerhalder reassured fans that they will "indeed be seeing Elena again," whose character seemed to have died by the time the previous season ended.
"She's not dead," the actor explained in the report. "In 70 years or however long Bonnie lives, Elena will resurface at some point, although we'll be very old when that happens."
Melty said it looks as if the producers of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 are making the necessary adjustments to ensure that the next season does not suffer because of Nina Dobrev's departure. Who wouldn't want such as great character as Nina's to stay?
"We're actually very excited about telling this story," the actor further dished out. "The way it was done was great. The way it was done was actually incredible, because it allows people to know that she's still there."
Somerhalder said Mystic Falls without Elena Gilbert is going to be very different, and that they want to go back to the type of storytelling heard on Season 1 and Season 2. He believes the last scene in the finale episode of the previous season "is truly a depiction of what this next season's going to be."
Dobrev, who has played the characters of Elena and Katherine, previously announced that she is leaving the long-running series and fans concluded she will not be on "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7.
"I always knew I wanted Elena's story to be a six season adventure, and within those six years I got the journey of a lifetime," the actress posted on Instagram.
The finale of the previous season ended with Kai cursing Elena so that her life will be linked to Bonnie.
But Dobrev seemed to have pulled some breaks when she ended that Instagram post with, "Fasten your seatbelts. If you think you know what's coming, you don't."
