Sony released an update to resolve overheating issues of the Sony Xperia Z3+, also known as Xperia Z4 in Japan where it was first launched.

After the recent release of Sony's latest flagship device, many users have been reportedly experienced overheating while using camera, playing games or streaming videos online, GSM Arena reported.

Sony confirmed that "in some cases" the phone gets too warm to watch as the apps that causes the phone to overheat will automatically close after the phone prompts user "saying the app will be shut down because the temperature of the Z3+ is too high."

And today Sony addressed the overheating issue through 28.0.A.7.24 update, but did not elaborate the details on how to resolve the issue. GSM arena suggests that that the update might "throttle the CPU and GPU clockspeeds."

"It weighs in at around 70MB and leaves the Android version at 5.0.2. If it's available in your region (you can check from the settings menu) you can install the update from your phone or from a computer, user data will not be affected," GSM Arena added.

The Sony Xperia Z3+ is one of the flagship phones of 2015 that runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor coupled with Adreno 430 graphics, and there's 3GB of RAM and a 32GB of onboard storage.

In terms of its design, it retains the IP65/IP68 certification but the speakers has been moved to the edges of the front panel.

It sports a 5.2-inch 1080p TRILUMINOUS display and measures 146 x 72 x 6.9 mm. Thus, it is slimmer than the Sony Xperia Z3 the battery has been watered down to 2,930mAh compared to the 3,100mAh of the previous model.

Meanwhile, it sports a 20.7MP Sony Exmor sensor with a 25mm-equivalent f2.0 lens while it has a 5MP front camera with a wide-angle 25mm glass.
