Ariana Grande and Big Sean started dating in October last year, but their relationship ended after a few months.

The couple announced their breakup in April, which shocked most of their fans because they appeared so sweet during the 2015 Grammy Awards held last February.

"They both deeply care for each other and remain close friends," their reps told Us Weekly. "We kindly ask that the media respect their wish for privacy regarding this personal matter at this time."

After their reps officially announced their split up, rumors started coming out regarding the real reason behind their breakup.

There were reports claiming it was about Justin Bieber's flirting with Ariana but there were also news that it was about Big Sean's obscene lyrics that talked about his girlfriend.

Before Big Sean started dating Ariana Grande, he got engaged to Naya Rivera in October 2013 but eventually called it quits in April 2014.

There were reports that the 27-year-old musician was devastated over his breakup with the 22-year-old pop princess because he didn't expect her to take the split up lightly.

"Sean is taking it hard. He feels like he failed with another high profile relationship," an insider told Hollywood Life. "He has been emotional about it. It sucks because he was in love with her, but to him, her bulls- got in the way of their good times, so he's really taken things hard."

During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the "Blessings" singer finally opens up about his high-profile breakups.

"Man, you know, I don't plan relationships. They just happen," he explained. "That's all it is. I'm just... I'm just living it. It's no, it's no God, it's no script. You know, we just out here doing what we doin'. Feelin' it out."

Big Sean also admitted that he never regretted his relationships with Ariana Grande and even Naya Rivera. "It's no mistakes in life, though -- only lessons," he said.

The "Bang Bang" hitmaker also seemed to have moved on from her relationship as she posted an essay on Instagram which talked about how happy she is single and admitted how tired she was being linked to a guy.
